What we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Draft for legal review. This page is a starting draft and has not yet been reviewed by an attorney. Last updated November 2, 2026.

What we collect

  • Surf Report sign-ups: your email address and, if you give it, your name. Our newsletter provider may also record whether emails are opened or links are clicked.
  • Messages you send us: your email address and whatever you write.
  • Website visits: our web host may keep standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and pages visited.

What we don’t collect

Dashboard subscriptions and payments are handled by TrendSpider. We don’t receive your payment card details, and we don’t see your trades or broker accounts.

How we use it

  • To send the Surf Report and occasional news about CATS
  • To answer your messages and support requests
  • To keep the website running and secure

Sharing

We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run CATS, such as our newsletter provider (beehiiv) and web host, and when the law requires it.

Your choices

  • Every Surf Report email has an unsubscribe link.
  • You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information by writing to eric@clawdog.com.
  • California residents have additional rights under California law, which we honor.

Children

CATS is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. Subscribing to a dashboard requires being 18 or older.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
